I had a truly awful experience of moving house with SSR in June of this year. Truly depressing. The guys that came to do the packing the first day and removal the next day were pleasant enough people but totally inadequate for the job in number and in organisation. We made so little progress on the removal day and I had to phone my lawyer to contact the new owners of my house to delay their arrival. Embarrassing.

The lorry they brought was not big enough and they had to call on another team with much delay and very bad feeling between me, the management and the staff. I will not go into all the things that went wrong, suffice to say, eventually the guys got the first lorry on the road to my new home. I left, on arrival of the new owners, with many of my belongings in the front garden, in the garage, and on the back garden terrace awaiting the arrival of the second van. Much was left behind in the disarray. And much was damaged in the removal. I was particularly distressed that my 150-year-old dining room table had dents in it, where something heavy had been laid on top of it without sufficient padding.

Once I had sufficiently recovered, I wrote to the owner of the company who had originally done the estimate for me. I pointing out my problems with the move, particularly my dining room table . Needless to say I was deafened by the silence and have had no correspondence from the firm or apology.

I would not recommend this company to anybody.

We had a very bad experience with this company on the 1st June and would caution anyone considering using them. Our furniture and walls were damaged and the amount of compensation offered by the owner of SSR was the absolute minimum that they were bound by any sense of reasonable decency to provide. Their polished slick pre-sales promise of a great service and stress-free experience was replaced by a stressful nightmare for us we would never use nor recommend this company again.

I very rarely leave reviews but feel compelled to write one today. Our story starts with waiting around for an hour worrying whether there was a problem with our booking or not and unable to contact anyone despite having a mobile number, but no, no problem, they were just late. Due to the lateness we had to leave before they had finished.The boys (young boys) who came along were polite, friendly and worked hard, no complaints. We agreed a time of 8.30am for the van to arrive at the new house. It arrived at 10.30am, late again! Once more the boys worked hard, were polite and well mannered. As they were leaving I pointed out that we were missing our large lounge rug (£80), the boys said that Neil Sinclair (the boss) had told them to leave the rug as it had dog hairs on it!! They just left our property in the old house and walked away!! They knew we had 2 large dogs so dog hairs was no surprise, the rug had been hoovered the day before. I was speechless and furious, Neil Sinclair made the decision to leave our property behind without telling us. We then also discovered that a glass item was smashed without anyone letting us know and a full tub of fence paint was left in the garage. I cannot believe that someone felt it appropriate to leave someone's property behind due to some dog hairs!! I have a photo and it is no more than normal for 2 white huskies having lain there for 2 hours - while the boys packed up the other room. They also left the dog bed - as it had dog hairs on it - WHAT??!!?? I would never use this company again, the boys were great however seriously let down by management!!

We had packing and wrapping on the first day of our move. The guys were quick and packed our inventory very well, with everything fitting into a big truck and 2 vans. We appreciate their hard work and the care they have taken with our move. Everything was placed back into thrown requested rooms and they put a carpet protector in our new home. It was slightly more costly than other quotes, but given nothing went wrong and it was pretty speedy I didn’t really mind that. Would recommended this company for a hassle free move.

I needed to move my 5 bed house with short notice after my original removal company let me down 3 days before my move. Lucky I managed to get quotes from few companies. Those guys got the whole thing going in no time. They turned one of the most stressful days of my life in to one of the most pleasant experiences I had using a removal company. Overall I am more than happy that I went with them in the end. My wife chose the cheapest quote to begin with however they turned us down because they underestimated how big our move was. SSR were not the most expensive of the 4 quotes I got and were most definitely worth it, everyone in the office knew what was going on the throughout and our movers were very helpful all day long. I have already recommend them to my sister who is also moving to Bristol next year, she lives in Newcastle and they are still able to do the job, even though they are Scotland based. 100% recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality service. Would give them 6 stars on this review if I could!

We have moved three times within the space of 4 months and each time have used Sterling Sinclair Removals.
Adam and his team were professional at all times in dealing with us. Special mention to Ross, Darren and Rhuari (sorry can't remember all the names) who worked with us to accomplish our moves between homes and out of storage.
The team were punctual and courteous every time and nothing was too much bother for them. Excellent teamwork and such humour took a lot of stress out of the situation. Ross deserves a special mention for his attention to detail due to our specific and complex possessions on each occasion. We are not planning on moving for some time but when the time comes first call will be to Adam and Co. at 1SSR.

I was recommended SSR Removals by a work colleague, and wasn't disappointed with their service, and attitude. I was on a very tight deadline, and the owner, Neil came out on the Monday and provided me with a very competitive quote. Ross came around to flat the next day with boxes and tape, and then returned on Friday with Darren for the move. At all times they kept in contact with me, and re-assured me that all would be fine.They were courteous, professional and patient throughout the process, and I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone.

I only just moved today using ssr removal company from Stirling and I would 100% reccomend them to anyone looking to move. From the communication to Ross coming out to do a quote then ran out of boxes so Neil kindly went out his way to bring me some. On the day of removal the guys were amazing turned up ready to start the job they knew exactly what the were doing (I used a different company on my last house move and they damaged alof of stuff) the guys used sheets to cover everything so it wasn't getting damaged I was panicking incase they couldn't fit it all in but they amazingly packed the van perfectly to fit every last thing in leaving nothing behind. Ross even kindly offered me a lift down to save me getting the train and just like they had packed it they had amazingly amazingly unpacked it damaging nothing at all. Would definitely reccomend this company to anyone looking to move house I will 100% use them again. Thank you guys. Moved from cumbernauld down to Kelso didn't have the choices for the towns.
